SEA SHORE OBSERVATIONS

Lost in the misty September morning I sat there,
Content just to be there,
Still and almost alone,
The birds hovered above me,
Busy in their antics,

Somewhere in the distance cars roared by
Like angry machines anxious to reach their destination,
Families of birds paddled their way along the seashore,
Seagulls squawked that there might be rain,

A plane goes by in the distance,
But the beauty of the birds far outshines the angry machines,
They glide elegantly by,
Soaring, climbing, gliding,

These different species of birds,
Content in each other’s presence,
Living alongside each other,
Savouring nature and playing such a large part of it.
